Holi Specials – Ideas for Menu planning

The festival of Holi is in a few days and I am here with 25 of my favorite `Menu items` which wraps around itself the memories of playing holi with family and friends. Since any celebration in India is not complete till you stuff yourself with lip smacking food, here are some of the dishes you can prepare for your family and friends and bring home the spirit of Holi ! 🙂

Holi is a festival of colors celebrated in almost all parts of India.

People apply gulaal (aromatic dry colors) on each other and play with water ballons and eat delicious food. As for the history and significance of this festival, this festival is played as a mark of celebration for the winning of good over evil. It is also known as the festival to mark the beginning of spring and the harvest season.

Like the spirit of all the Indian festivals, Holi is considered a festival which brings people close as we forget our differences and celebrate. It is the time for fun and food. People would gather in groups and would play with water and colors, dance to the tunes of famous bollywood music and eat sweets and savories !
